Join the TerrapinSTRONG team as we attend the first ever symposium of the 1856 Project and learn together. You can register for the event here. If you'd like to meet up with TerrapinSTRONG and other new members of the UMD community, please email for a meetup time and location.

The 1856 Project is UMD's contribution to the Universities Studying Slavery Consortium, Addressing the Past for a Liberated Future. The 1856 Project investigates UMD's connections to slavery to provide richer understanding of generational, racialized trauma.
